Finally! The Bottle Tree

I just love my bottle tree.  Cobalt blue is probably my favorite color.  I've seen other bottle trees made out of rebar but this piece of mesquite was free.  The only thing I had to do was convince my neighbors to help me empty the bottles.

Didn't take much convincing.  I had to make a trip to 3 different Krogers to find all the bottles I needed.  Must be a popular brand of cheap wine.   Jimbo didn't see the humor in it when he pulled up from work one afternoon and got a look at my bottle tree.  I had beer cans and Dr. Pepper cans all over it.  He couldn't see my vision.  He honestly thought I was going to leave it that way.  I should have left it that way for a day or two.  I don't think our HOA will find the humor in it either.

I think it's beautiful.  It make me smile!

This was a project I did when my dad was here visiting from Arizona.  We had a lot of fun with it.  Love you Dad!

Tassels Are Too Cute

Creative Home Expressions - http://creativehomeexpressions.blogspot.com/ - found the cutest tassels on her blog today.  Her chocolate bunny tassel she ordered was so cute.  She found them at Butterfly Genes. - http://butterflygenes.blogspot.com/2011/07/my-new-craft-room-part-3.html   I have to have a bird and a rooster tassel.  Go see all the choices she has for tassels.  She has a TON.

Table Has Legs

The table now has legs.  Woo hoo.  It still needs lots of sanding and then a couple of good coats of paint.  Maybe that new Krylon Dual spray paint might be in order.  Now to just pick a color.  Reveal to come....

Tomorrow I'm going to share my bottle tree.  I love my bottle tree.  It was a "village" project.

By the way, I know the photos are lame.  It's just so easy uploading photos from my phone. I would really like a digital Canon Rebel.  I have an old 35mm Canon Rebel and it took amazing photos.   Any suggestions?

Adirondack Table

I started on this project a couple of months ago when it wasn't so hot.

Since then it's just been sitting in the garage.  Since it's not going to cool off for awhile, I'll just bring it inside.  Shouldn't make too much dust and I HAVE to get something crossed off my "to do" list.  I'll get the legs attached, get it level and then it can go back outside for a lot of sanding and some paint.

This plan is from Ana White. http://ana-white.com/2011/05/round-outdoor-adirondack-side-table  I have a binder full of plans that I want to do from her site.  If you haven't checked it out, you should.  Her instructions are very easy to follow and she has anywhere from easy all the way up to experienced.

Love Me Some Vinyl

I decided that the powder bath door needed something.  It was kind of boring.  Since it's so hot outside, I decided an indoor project was in order.

Very plain.  I got out my Cricut Expressions.  Found a design I liked from My Vinyl Designer, http://www.myvinyldesigner.com/, and printed it out on brown vinyl.

I think the words powder room need to be a little bigger.  What do you think?  Since I have a small cutter, I had to piece the one in the middle of the door.  I'm not real swift with SCAL yet but I'm learning.  Kind of fumbling through it is more like it.  What I like about it is that you can easily pull it off to change it or take it off completely.

My Blog Background

Graphics Fairy is one of my favorite places.  Love, love, love it.  That's where I got my background.  http://www.backgroundfairy.com/  Karen has a crafts blog http://www.graphicsfairy-crafts.com/ and a DIY blog http://www.graphicsfairy-diy.com/

Yummiest Chocolate Chip Cookies

It's only appropriate that my first post is about cookies.  I am a JUNK FOOD queen.  I have to say that this is the best Chocolate Chip cookie recipe.  I found it here http://www.dana-made-it.com/2011/05/chocolate-chip-cookies-any-day-of-week.html.  I've tried several and this one is simply yummy.  Must be the butter and the Crisco.  I followed her recipe exactly except I used my large Pampered Chef scooper (I don't think that's the official name) to make individual dough balls and froze them on cookie sheets.  Since they don't stay long in my freezer, I just used a ziplock baggie to store them.

Ok. I did it!

Not really sure how this blogging thing works but Im going to just wade right in. Timid would not be a word to describe me. Adult ADD might work. Obsessive crafter would work too. I thought my friend Karen officially named our once-a-month craft club but she's kind of waffling on the name so we'll just say tbd. I'm featuring that craft for my first post. I just have to figure out how to do it.
